Fota celebrations at Volakas Dramas, Greece

The "bears" of Volakas appear in an aggressive manner, shaking the bell hanging in front of them, something that has a fertility symbolism as well as driving away evil. The dance and they play reenacting reproduction acts in order to educate the young couple and promote fertility.
